SMS Radar Proximity Warning System

In proximity warning applications, radars can detect objects (individual reflectors) in an area or volume around an aircraft and determine range and altitude of objects relative to the aircraft to prevent collisions. 

Smartmicro proximity warning systems scan the vicinity of an aircraft for objects that the aircraft might collide with. Once a proximity threshold is reached an alarm is issued. 

We offer several radar sensor types which can be combined to form a powerful proximity warning system that exactly fits your needs, ranging from single sensor systems that only secure one sector up to multi sensor systems that provide 360 degrees of protection.

All Smartmicro proximity warning systems provide a list of detected and tracked objects (with 2D or 3D position and speed vector of all objects) to the aircraft systems.
